IF you had walked into Wadalba Community School primary playground on the Friday before Father's Day, you would have seen dads back at school.
In an effort to get dads involved in education and their kids' school life, Central Coast schools sent out invitations and teachers helped fire up the barbecues.Mr Mark Hines, father of Rhiannon in Year 5 and Jessica in Year 1, loved meeting their friends and playing handball with them."I hope the Father's Day breakfast continues for the rest of the time my children are at school," Mr Hines said.Dads were invited to have breakfast, look in classrooms, listen to reading and meet teachers. "I think it's very special and important to spend time with your kids," Mr Craig Bennett said. "I'm not able to visit school much as I work at Cessnock, so it makes me very proud and happy to see my daughters, Megan and Aleisha, smiling and happy at school.""I have a really special bond with both of my children," said Mr Gary Head, who commutes to Sydney each day."I love it that my dad can come to school for the Father's Day breakfast," Mr Head's daughter Rachael said.
