2HD breakfast announcer Luke Grant starred in his own real-life cops and robbers car chase on the weekend.
Grant, who is the ground announcer for the Sydney Roosters, was driving from Sydney Football Stadium to Easts Leagues Club for a post-match function when the incident occurred. He left the football stadium just after 8pm and was driving up Oxford Street at Bondi Junction when he noticed three youths being chased by police on the nearby footpath."I stopped at the traffic lights ahead and one of the policemen knocked on my window and said: 'Mate, can you give us a lift'," Grant said. Two police officers jumped in the back of Grant's V8 Holden Calais and instructed him to follow the youths."It was very exciting. It probably only lasted five minutes but I've never chased crooks before," Grant said. The trio tracked down the youths, who were arrested. When the jock retold the story on radio yesterday morning he said he "went way over the top exaggerating as much as I could".Grant still has no idea what the youths had done."I'm anticipating a bravery medal," he joked.
